Arenanet is evil! Or so they say.
I don't post very often on this forum, but I read it quite a lot. And it seems to me that the frequent forum posters are getting bitter in their old age. Everyone is acting as if EVERYTHING arenanet does with GW is equivalent to murdering and eating our children. Is it because everyone unanimously feels that GW is on a steady downward spiral (some updates may not be perfect, but I don't see said spiral, by any means) or nobody on this forum is happy unless there is something to complain about? I think if the GW staff gave everyone a puppy, the only posts on the forums would be people complaining about having to train said puppy, or people allergic to dogs. Or is it because everyone is getting antsy about GW2's eventual release, and is maybe getting tired of the same old GW1 story over and over again, with major game altering updates (winds of change) being too far apart? Is GW really that bad? If so, why are there still so many players, (admittedly not as many as, say, 3 years ago) including the same players that complain on forums?

PLEASE edit some pararraphs in your post... sheesh. Its a short but horrible wall of text you set up there.
There are many reasons for the Anet is horrible and any PR person can name the one important reason. You can never make everyone happy.
For example;
Inscriptions killed the game vs all weapons should drop inscribable
Shadowform is fine as it is vs. Shadowform murdered Ectos
7 Heroes killed the game vs. PUG players are idiots
The game is too easy vs. everyinting in the game is out to kill me
Presearing Vanguard quests killed the respect of LDOA vs. My electricity company hates the quests
As you can see, no matter what Anet does you will always have one group loving the change and another group hating it.

ANet is on a quest to make sure the game is not too easy, while at the same time attempting to make it easier. This makes them look bad, especially since a lot of the current population is returning players getting ready for GW2. These players are not used to these changes. Here:
They made survivor and drunkard easier- This made my survivor characters no longer prestigious and made people who spent 10,000 minutes drunk PISSED.
They updated dervishes to make them better- As a result they became overpowered meta in every group. Win for hardcore dervs, lose for everyone else.
They are forced to nerf just about EVERYTHING they do- Dervs, BuH, etc.. makes them look very bad.
The April Fool's event- Obviously them trying to make maxing vanguard easier. Got some people their titles, people who had the titles were pissed, people who couldn't make the event were VERY pissed.
Shadow Form- This is the big one. Made all of the non-perma players ecstatic, yet anyone who played perma now lost their income. It's like an olympic runner breaking his leg. You are now useless in the world, you can't make money, and once you heal you'll never be as good as you used to be.
Long story short, they're trying to make everyone happy. If they were more careful and did things that would not require nerfing down the road, they would be much better off. It's like a referee changing his call. They try to make the game easier to keep people interested, then piss off all of the people who did the work. There have been threads of people listing the things they love about ANet, but those people are generally busy playing the game. The people that are pissed instead decide to vent their rage here on the forums.
